FAQ

  • Who is this sustainable investing course for?

This course is designed for financial advisors, planners, wealth professionals, relationship managers and other client-facing financial services professionals who want to practice applying sustainable investing knowledge in realistic client situations.

  • Do I need prior sustainable investing knowledge?

Some foundational knowledge of sustainable and responsible investing is recommended. This is a practical course focused on applying concepts rather than teaching theory. If you are new to sustainable investing or would like a refresher, ED4S offers foundational training for financial professionals at ed4s.org/advisor-capacity.

  • How is this different from a traditional online course?

Instead of primarily watching videos or reading content, you participate in an AI-powered role-play simulation with a realistic client. You conduct client discovery, explore financial and sustainability preferences, apply professional judgment and receive personalized feedback on your performance.

  • What skills does the simulation assess?

The simulation assesses how you apply knowledge and judgment in a realistic client interaction, including client discovery and KYC, risk assessment, sustainability preferences, investment suitability, product knowledge and client communication.

  • How long does the course take, and is it eligible for CE/CPD?

The complete learning experience takes approximately one hour, including approximately 50 minutes of applied simulation practice, personalized feedback and a final assessment. The course is designed as a structured professional-development activity. Eligibility for specific CE/CPD credits depends on approval by the applicable accreditation body.

  • Can financial institutions use these simulations to assess advisor competency and risk?

Yes. ED4S can configure simulations to assess how professionals apply knowledge, judgment and communication skills in realistic client situations. Organizations can use the results to identify competency gaps, training needs and potential client communication or conduct risks before they arise in real client interactions.

  • Can the simulations be customized for our organization?

Yes. Simulations can be customized around your organization's products, policies, competency frameworks, client profiles, learning objectives and specific risk areas. Organizations can also incorporate their own investment products to assess whether professionals can explain and apply them appropriately in client situations.

  • Can this be used for topics other than sustainable investing?

Yes. The same AI role-play and competency assessment approach can be applied to KYC and client discovery, suitability, product knowledge, new product launches, compliance, advisor onboarding, client communication and other financial-services competencies. For example, simulations can be designed to identify specific communication risks such as greenwashing and greenhushing.

  • Can this be deployed across my organization?

Yes. ED4S can deploy customized simulation-based training and assessments for specific teams, business units or larger advisor populations. Programs can support onboarding, professional development, product readiness, CE/CPD and ongoing competency assessment, with aggregated insights into performance and skill gaps.
